Santa Cruz de Tenerife Port Transfers

Cruise ships dock at Muelle Sur in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, within the capital's port area. The terminal has several docking points depending on ship size. The exit leads onto the Santa Cruz seafront, with the Tenerife Auditorium visible from the dock itself. Your Million Routes driver will be waiting in the pick-up area outside, holding a sign with your name.

You can walk. The Tenerife Auditorium (designed by Santiago Calatrava) is five minutes from the dock. The centre of Santa Cruz (Mercado de Nuestra Señora de África, García Sanabria Park, historic quarter) is about 15-20 minutes on foot. If you want to explore the capital before heading south or to the Teide, you won't need a vehicle for that first part.

TITSA operates lines from Santa Cruz to the south and north, but the stops aren't at the dock itself: you have to walk to the stops in the centre. There's no direct bus to the Teide from Santa Cruz. Taxis are available at the port but without a fixed price. For long trips such as the south or the Teide, a private transfer is the only option with a fixed price and immediate departure from the dock.

Port calls in Santa Cruz range between 8 and 12 hours, with early arrivals between 7:00-8:00 am. It's a common stop on Atlantic and transatlantic routes. Confirm the return time to the ship before planning: the south of the island and the Teide require between 45 and 60 minutes' travel from the dock, which affects how much time you have at each destination.

About 55-65 minutes via the TF-1 under normal conditions. At peak times entering the south it can take up to 75 minutes. With a 10-hour port call: you leave at 8:00 am, arrive in the south at 9:15 am, have until 3:30-4:00 pm and return to the dock by 5:30 pm with margin. With an 8-hour port call, the south is tight but possible if you don't make too many stops.

Yes. The Teide is about 50 km from the port (50-55 minutes via the TF-24 or TF-21). If you want to go up by cable car, book it before boarding: capacity is limited and it sells out days in advance in high season. The cable car reaches 3,555 metres; to reach the summit (3,718 m) you need an additional National Park permit, also booked online.

It's possible but very tight. The Teide and Costa Adeje are at opposite ends of the island's north-south axis. Doing both means more than 3 hours of accumulated travel time. If the port call is 10-12 hours and the time at each stop is brief, it can be done. For 8-hour port calls we recommend choosing one or the other.

The Santa Cruz Carnival (February) is one of the most important in the world and draws tens of thousands of people onto the capital's streets. If your ship docks during those days, central Santa Cruz is spectacular but very crowded. Access to the port and the city may be affected by traffic closures, and the transfer to the south or the Teide should be planned with wider margins than usual.

Yes. When booking, you indicate the ship's name and approximate disembarkation time. The driver monitors the arrival in real time and adapts if there's any variation in docking. Booking in advance is especially important if your plan includes the Teide, since the cable car also needs to be booked beforehand.

These are completely different situations. From TFS the south is 15-20 minutes away; from Santa Cruz it's 60 minutes. If your cruise docks in Santa Cruz and you want to go south, the round trip means almost two hours of accumulated travel. That's time you need to subtract from the port call when planning your itinerary.
